JENNA MARTIN ROSSI
Born in Paris in 1989, Jenna Martin Rossi is a French artist based in Hossegor, in the southwest of France. Trained in textile design in Paris, she embarked on a formative journey through South America in 2011, where she learned traditional dyeing, spinning, and weaving techniques from local artisans.
Upon her return to France, she pursued further training in embroidery and joined Maison Lesage, (Métiers d’Art Chanel). Over the course of seven years, she developed exceptional expertise in hand embroidery and weaving, creating bespoke textiles at the intersection of craftsmanship and contemporary design.
In 2020, Jenna expanded her practice through studies in art therapy and artistic mediation in helping relationships (INECAT, RNCP-certified diploma), deepening her understanding of the transformative and relational dimensions of artistic creation.
Today, her work brings together painting, weaving, and hand embroidery in richly textured compositions that explore memory, gesture, and materiality. Bridging fine art and textile traditions, her unique works reveal a dialogue between ancestral techniques and contemporary expression. Since 2022, her work has been successfully presented in a number of exhibitions in France..
About the work
Jenna Martin Rossi’s work exists at the intersection of painting and textile art. Drawing on both contemporary abstraction and ancestral weaving traditions, she layers translucent veils of color, handwoven structures, embroidery, and painted surfaces to create works that feel both tactile and atmospheric. Her compositions evoke shifting landscapes, geological formations, bodies in motion, and fleeting memories, blurring the boundary between the visible and the felt.
Central to her practice is the idea of transformation: painted canvases are cut, woven, embroidered, reconstructed, and reimagined. The resulting works possess a remarkable sense of depth, transparency, and movement, inviting viewers into meditative spaces where color, texture, and light interact. Through this fusion of fine art and textile craftsmanship, Martin Rossi celebrates humanity, memory, and the universal language of making by hand.
