About Michele Mariaud Gallery
Michele Mariaud Gallery was founded in Soho over two decades ago by Michele Mariaud—my late wife, and an extraordinary woman whose passion for art and people shaped every aspect of the gallery’s identity. I had the honor of being one of the first artists she represented.
Since Michele’s passing three years ago, I have continued to carry forward her vision, rooted in a simple but powerful philosophy: the artists and collectors always come first.
Michele had an extraordinary gift for discovering emerging talent and was deeply committed to supporting artists, both within the gallery and on the international stage at art fairs. She made it a principle that the gallery would always take the smallest commission possible—ensuring that artists benefited directly and substantially from every sale.
Equally dedicated to her collectors and interior designers, Michele spared no effort to find or place the perfect piece. Whether collaborating with other galleries, installing work herself, or personally ensuring a seamless acquisition experience, she always went the extra mile to make sure each person felt seen, understood, and inspired.
Above all, Michele believed that art should be accessible. She championed affordability and inclusivity, viewing art as a vital outlet for emotion, truth, and resilience—something that belonged to everyone, regardless of location or income.
Michele proved that a business can have a soul. And through this gallery, her spirit continues to guide everything we do.
Thank you to our collectors, designers, and artists for helping us continue this story.

About Michele Mariaud
Michele Mariaud is a creative soul with a mind for business. She began her early career as an artist musician and music teacher in Canada. Five years later Michele moved to Europe where she was asked to develop businesses in France and other countries in Europe. For more than 15 years she focused on building businesses specializing in sales and marketing.
Michele came to the United States and in 2005 opened her eponymous art gallery in New York City in response to the local context where art was difficult to access for artists, clients, and galleries. Her mission was simple and that was to offer unpretentious access to very good quality original artworks. Michele proposes authentic and affordable works of art to her clients, which capture the imagination and stand the test of time. The 2000 sqft gallery showcases a large inventory of more than 300 artworks directly accessible with new exhibits every 6 weeks.
Over the past 15 years Michele has provided an art fair type of shopping experience for her clients who range from budding art enthusiasts to seasoned collectors. Her passion extends far beyond her proficiency of art and her comfortable presence is one that guides, promotes discussion and shares anecdotes about her artists making art buying a truly no fuss and enjoyable experience.
Michele Mariaud has been developing a signature style in her gallery which mixes a large inventory of contemporary works of art by both well-known artists and emerging with Michele’s own furniture and other creator’s finds. Many of Michele’s artists are exclusive to the gallery and all create prolific works with an equal amount of passion, soul, spirit, and skill.
The gallery exhibits in many international fairs throughout the year including Miami Pulse during Art Basel, Art Palm Springs, Scope and Art on Paper in New York, Affordable Art Fair NYC, and Market Art + Design in Bridgehampton, Art Toronto, Fotofever Paris and others.
Michele’s actual experience and profile combines art and business.
