Bonjour,

It has been almost three years since our beloved Michele Mariaud passed away. During this time, I have done my best to carry on her work and maintain the gallery’s beautiful legacy, guided by Michele’s philosophy: the collectors and artists come first.

Continuously searching for unique up-and-coming artists, she was devoted to supporting them and displaying their works in the gallery as well as in art fairs. It was especially important to her that the gallery always received the smallest percentage of a sale, leaving the majority for the artists.

She always worked tirelessly to meet the desires of her collectors and interior designers. Whether it was finding the perfect piece for them, which at times meant partnering with other galleries, or delivering and installing a piece at the client’s home herself, she would always go the extra mile to ensure everyone involved was completely satisfied.

Finally, an important principle that guided Michele in the development of her gallery was that art is something that should be available to everyone, no matter where they are or what their income may be. She believed that it could be an outlet for emotion, truth, and resilience, which is why she emphasized affordable art.

Business can have a soul and she was the proof of it.

Thank you to our collectors, designers, and artists for helping us continue this story.

About Michele Mariaud

Michele Mariaud is a creative soul with a mind for business. She began her early career as an artist musician and music teacher in Canada. Five years later Michele moved to Europe where she was asked to develop businesses in France and other countries in Europe. For more than 15 years she focused on building businesses specializing in sales and marketing.

Michele came to the United States and in 2005 opened her eponymous art gallery in New York City in response to the local context where art was difficult to access for artists, clients, and galleries. Her mission was simple and that was to offer unpretentious access to very good quality original artworks. Michele proposes authentic and affordable works of art to her clients, which capture the imagination and stand the test of time. The 2000 sqft gallery showcases a large inventory of more than 300 artworks directly accessible with new exhibits every 6 weeks.

Over the past 15 years Michele has provided an art fair type of shopping experience for her clients who range from budding art enthusiasts to seasoned collectors. Her passion extends far beyond her proficiency of art and her comfortable presence is one that guides, promotes discussion and shares anecdotes about her artists making art buying a truly no fuss and enjoyable experience.

Michele Mariaud has been developing a signature style in her gallery which mixes a large inventory of contemporary works of art by both well-known artists and emerging with Michele’s own furniture and other creator’s finds. Many of Michele’s artists are exclusive to the gallery and all create prolific works with an equal amount of passion, soul, spirit, and skill.

The gallery exhibits in many international fairs throughout the year including Miami Pulse during Art Basel, Art Palm Springs, Scope and Art on Paper in New York, Affordable Art Fair NYC, and Market Art + Design in Bridgehampton, Art Toronto, Fotofever Paris and others.

Michele’s actual experience and profile combines art and business. Her wide success is part of her heritage having a European sensibility and possessing a depth of knowledge of North American culture. She enjoys creating new environments and new businesses. Michele resides in New York, NY where she lives with her husband Albert Delamour, a well-known artist and photographer.
